North Fork Crooked
River Pack Trip

The Crooked River runs through the Ochoco National Forest area roughly 100 miles east of Bend. Troop 21 took a weekend backpack trip down the North Fork, starting from the access area east of Big Summit Prairie. The terrain at times was steep, forcing us to ford the river many times, but the scenery was magnificent, and the trip turned out to be one that will be remembered by all for a long time to come.

Camp setup in the soft grass amidst the tall pines. Hard to beat this.
One of the many times we had to cross the river.
It just doesn't get much better than this.
The Buddy System in action. In order to cross some parts of the river, the Troop had to form a picket line to help everyone over.
