Day One (Saturday)
Bend to San Juan Island

Everyone met at Paramount Supply (the staging area) at 0400 (!!!). From there, the crew took off, following Highway 97 and 26 over Mount Hood to Portland, and from Portland, taking I-5 all the way up to Mount Vernon, Washington. The caravan then cut over Highway 20 to Anacortes, where we descended on the poor, unsuspecting workers at the Washington State Ferry terminal with ten vehicles (two with large trailers), thirty-one cyclists, and fifty-seven total people. Once over to Friday Harbor, the crew saddled up and rode through the rain about six miles up to LakeDale Campground.

Lined up at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal.
Everyone herds onto the ferry.
So we're here. Now what do we do?
Just two ships passing in the rain.
Video games. The scourge of mankind.
The large canopy proved invaluable for setting up the tents in the rain.
The dining flys go up and trailers are unloaded.
Camp is finally setup.
