Day Six (Thursday)
50 Miler on Lopez Island

On Thursday, the younger scouts went on a day trip down to Olga and Doe Bay. The Venture Crew scouts got up at 5:30 am, and rode back to Orcas Village to catch the ferry over to Lopez Island. Once on Lopez, they spent the day riding the circumference of the entire island, and then caught the ferry back to Orcas, thus completing the 50 mile bike ride for the cycling merit badge. Best of all, the troop had ordered pizza from Eastsound for that evening. Many sore muscles but happy stomachs that night.

Ray says "pain is good". Is this part of the incoming Scoutmaster
training requirement?

Stu and Jim say, "pain is good.
And yes it is part of your training.
Get used to it".

Coming down the home stretch. But will they make it back
in time to catch the ferry?

Yes! A 50 miler (54) under their belt, some sore legs, and some
pizza on Orcas to look forward to.
