Troop 27 setup a large orienteering course on the far side of the inlet . Note the three starting markers and the patrol running the course by the line of Juniper trees.

T21 ASPL Jeff Morris reads the description of his symptoms to a patrol at the First Aid competition. Scouts must correctly diagnose the situation, then explain and demonstrate proper treatment for such incidents as heat exhaustion, arterial bleeding, broken leg, and shock. Patrols also had to take a written quiz on First Aid topics.

Scouts at the water safety relay are timed in the answering fo questions related to water safety, followed by the accurate throwing of a lifeline 50 feet to a "victim".

T21 Eagle Scout and JASM Bryan Hartke describes his symptoms to a patrol that eagerly awaits their turn to begin diagnosis and treatment.

.
At the Knot competition, each patrol is timed as they try to correctly tie as many different knots as possible.

The Wildwood Run tested teamwork skills and the physical endurance of the patrol members.

In the Baden Powell Challenge, each Troop selected six boys to work as a "patrol". Each patrol had to load a backpack with tent, sleeping bag, stove, pan, and matches. The patrol then ran 100 yards from the starting point to the setup area, pitched the tent, deployed the sleeping bag, put a scout in the bag, setup the stove, lit the stove, cooked an egg (fully), had the scout in the bag eat the egg, then broke camp, packed up all the gear and ran to the finish line. Patrols were judged based on best time. In other words, it was barely controlled pandemonium.

Jeff Morris, Schuyler Leonard, Adam Dickey, Spencer Ardt, and Eric Fredstrom scramble to setup the stove while Anthony Moorman patiently waits in the sleeping bag for his egg.
